Who can audition?
If you are an SMU undergrad student, love to sing, and want to be part of a supportive girl group, then Belle Tones is for you! We're ready to be dazzled by singers of all skill levels and experience.
We would love to have you audition! Look below for more information, and come to our information session (date TBD).

When are auditions, where are they, and how do I sign up?
While audition dates haven’t been finalized, we will most likely host them in early September in the Owen Fine Arts Center. Please fill out the form below for more information!
What do I need to prepare for my audition? What song should I sing?
Part of your audition will include a prepared A Cappella solo, meaning that you will sing it by yourself with no background music or accompaniment track. We ask that you prepare the first verse and chorus of two contrasting songs. They can be any song as long as they are contrasting, i.e. anything from Beyonce’s Halo to the National Anthem. Whatever songs you think best showcase your vocal range and talents—we just wanna see what you can do!

What else will I be asked to do in my audition?
Please arrive at least 15 minutes before your audition to fill out an audition form with information about how to contact you, your past musical experience, availability, etc.
The audition itself will last about 10 minutes. During that time, you will sing your prepared solo, do a short sight-reading exercise, and go through some musical exercises.
But please do not stress!! We are here to help you through this process and have fun, as we have all been in your position before. Be yourself, we want to know what makes you, you!
When will I know if I made it to Callbacks?
As far as Callbacks go, we will email you within the week following your audition if you have been selected. This email will be packed with more information including the room we will be in, the time, what to prepare, and what to expect while you are there!
I've been classically trained since birth, I've won multiple riff offs against Mariah Carey, and I beatbox for Kanye West in my spare time. Should I audition for Belle Tones?
Yes. We love you.
I've never been in choir or taken voice lessons, but my shower head thinks I have some serious talent. Should I audition for Belle Tones?
Absolutely. We love you too.
